The trade-off for making a cheap small-sized lens that can zoom from 55mm to 200mm focal length is the maximum aperature size.
f-stop = (focal length)/aperature diameter
At 55mm, the aperature has a diameter of 12mm.
At 200mm, the aperature has a diameter of 36mm.
If Li Hung wants the lens to be able to open to f/4.5 at 200mm, the aperature will have a diameter of 44mm. Which means the overall lens have to be larger in size...
